how the front of the first models had a snow shovel like front end,
plastic seats, and no heal straps. Foot beds? Your sittin down!
Quit whining!" |

What got you hooked/interested in foiling? I got
into this sport because I saw Mike Murphy ride it at Sea World of
San Antonio back in 90', and tried it that summer at a buddies house
in new York while on vacation at my parents house. Hooked, but then
rode it everyday for 4 months learning it in Germany in 1992. Damn
these things have come a long way. I remember how the front of the
first models had a snow shovel like front end, plastic seats, and
no heal straps. Foot beds? Your sittin down! Quit whining!

Why Join USHA? I joined USHA for a few reasons.
One, if I didn't join, what would that say about my support for
the sport? You have to be involved if you are wanting to make things
better. You can't sit on the sidelines and bitch, and expecting
the sport to progress like you want it to. Another reason I join
is the magazine. Sure there are lots of non-hydrofoil events in
there, but so what? Until someone else besides Tony Klarich decides
to pony up and make a decent full foil mag, it is the next best
thing. Besides, I like reading about all water ski aspects. I also
get wake board and water ski mags. It gives you something to look
at and compare with. |
